Sonic Generations is the video game created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic Generations is a gaming experience for Sonic fans old and new: in this exciting, new, fast-paced adventure, you can play Sonic the Hedgehog as both the classic character you’ve always loved from 1991 and the modern video game hero he’s become.

The instantly recognizable environments in Sonic Generations span three iconic eras from Sonic the Hedgehog’s 20-year history in video games. Recreated in 3D, the environments are now playable in both the classic side-scrolling style of 1991 and the modern 3D style seen in Sonic’s most recent adventures. Each version of Sonic in Sonic Generations features signature special moves: the Spin Dash and Spin Attack for classic Sonic, and the Homing Attack and Sonic Boost for modern Sonic.

Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates “time holes” that pull Sonic and his friends back in time. This brings him face to face with a number of surprises from his past, including Classic Sonic, that is, Sonic as he looked in 1991. Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic must defeat the strange new enemy, save their friends, and find out who is really behind this diabolical act...
